5 Mistakes That Make It Weak

It only takes so long to get sick. Sometimes even less. When you bravely and completely trust your immune system to fight back and it does, are you sure you are giving it all the right weapons?

See, you are feeling very good, 100 percent confident about your health. But then late one night comes to a boil and the energy level starts decreasing. And then you follow it with a relaxed meal.

It sounds amazing but sooner or later, you will run out of energy.

Probably when you think of boosting your immune system by getting enough vitamins C and D and adding antioxidants and spices to your diet.

It’s good that you’re thinking about your health and boosting your grandmother’s immunity Hard. But wouldn’t it be great if you could avoid all the things that are weakening your immunity?

1. Stress, loneliness and sadness

Stress and lack of sleep can increase the brain’s production of cortisol, a hormone that impedes the function of infection-fighting T-cells. A sudden tragic event can also weaken your body’s immune response.

According to a study published in the Journal of Neuroimmunology in December 2014, increased anxiety associated with loneliness leads to greater suppression of the immune system.


Exercise regularly. Stay in touch with your friends and family. Practice relaxation techniques like meditation, yoga or tai chi. Hug people more often.

2. Sedentary Lifestyle

Studies have shown that sitting too much, exercising and avoiding sunlight can affect your body’s ability to fight infection.

Despite their sex, age, and harmful habits such as smoking and drinking, a sedentary lifestyle can disrupt the immune system, causing inflammation and other chronic diseases.


Be active Exercise for 30 minutes. Walk in the sun before 10 pm, preferably harmful ultraviolet radiation from the sun can also trigger immune responses and increase the risk of infection.

Being a couch potato is not encouraged because it disrupts your immune system, but extreme workouts do the same.

Overtraining syndrome can make your body more suspicious of the virus.

4. Excessive drinking and smoking

All types of cigarettes — traditional and e-cigarettes — are exposing you to nicotine which is known to increase cortisol levels.

The vapor emitted from e-cigarettes contains free radicals that can cause airway inflammation and share impaired responses with bacteria and viruses. It can also damage the lungs and make them more susceptible to infection.

Excessive drinking has a similar effect on the immune system. This makes your lungs more prone to bacterial and viral invasion.


Quit smoking. Limit your drink. Increase your lung capacity.

5. Salt, Sugar and Saturated Fat

According to a June 2014 review published in the Journal of Nutrition, saturated fat can impair the immune system. Salt and sugar can also have negative effects.

Obesity reduces the number and function of white blood cells which are important to fight infection.


Include a moderate amount of salt and sugar in your food. Eat good fat. Add cinnamon to your desserts and drinks.


A few years ago, you could enjoy all the junk you like, but today when a deadly virus is spreading like wildfire, your body needs you.

Immunity is your hero and you should take care of it in every possible way.
