EPFO’s online services allow you to check your account balance in the Employee Provident Fund (EPF) without having to visit any offices, thanks to the modernized and impromptu digitization of EPFO’s services. By sending an SMS or making a missed call or by logging into the EPFO website or using its mobile app, you can find out your balance in the EPF account. Activated UAN members can find out their latest contribution and PF balance available with EPFO by sending an SMS to ‘7738299899’ from the registered mobile phone number. The SMS must be in the format
The installation is available in 10 languages, with English being the default language. You can also receive the messages in Hindi, Punjabi, Guajarati, Marathi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Bengali. To receive the SMS in any language other than English, the first three characters of the preferred language must be added after UAN. For example, to receive SMS in Telugu, the SMS will be sent as:

Missed calls service
Members registered in the UAN portal can obtain their available data with EPFO by making a missed call to ‘011-22901406’ from their registered mobile number. If the member’s UAN is stocked with any of the Bank’s A / C, AADHAAR, and PAN numbers, the member will get details of the last contribution and PF balance. The call is automatically disconnected after two rings. This service is free.
After registering on the EPFO Member Portal, you can log in at : https://passbook.epfindia.gov.in/MemberPassBook/Login# with your UAN and password. This allows you to view your passbook or account statement.
Mobile app services
Members can view their account balance and EPF statement through the ‘Umang’ mobile app. The ‘Umang’ app is available in English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujrati, Punjabi, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali, Oriya, Telugu, and Urdu. Click EPFO in the app. Go to Employee-Centered Services and click View Notebook. You can enter your UAN and OTP sent on the registered mobile phone number to see your balance in the Employee Provident Fund.
