Ashok Leyland to carve out two new units to strengthen green transport solutions

Commercial automobiles main Ashok Leyland on Wednesday stated it has determined to type two new subsidiaries as a part of its plans to strengthen green transport solutions.

The company by way of its subsidiary Switch Mobility Ltd, the UK-based electrical automobile producer of buses and vans, is creating two units, Ashok Leyland stated in a press release.

The first unit — Switch Mobility Automotive Ltd — is being shaped to keep on the electrical automobile technique in India and types a part of its world entity.



The second subsidiary — OHM Global Mobility Pvt Ltd — will concentrate on offering mobility as a service providing, it stated.

Switch Mobility Automotive Ltd brings collectively the company’s capabilities each from Optare UK and Ashok Leyland’s EV Division, it famous.

“Switch Mobility Automotive Ltd will help us fulfil our aspiration of zero carbon emission transportation.

“With a powerful presence and confirmed experience within the business automobile market in India and the expertise of working a lot of electrical automobiles efficiently in India and the UK, we see enormous alternatives for development by way of Switch’s growth in Indian and world markets,” Ashok Leyland Chairman Dheeraj Hinduja said.

Ashok Leyland MD and CEO Vipin Sondhi said creating Switch Mobility and OHM Global would give the company the ability to drive the sustainability agenda which Ashok Leyland is passionate about.

“It will mix our client centric method with the experience in expertise that the new entities will convey to the desk,” he added.
