Bajaj Platina 100 ES disc brake variant priced at Rs 59,373

The disc brake version costs Rs 3,827 more than the drum brake variant.

Bajaj has added a new variant of the ES (electric start) disc brake to the Platina 100 lineup, bringing the total number of variants to three. The dealers tell us that this new variant is priced at Rs 59,373. For reference, the other two variants of the Platina 100, the KS Alloy Drum Brake and the ES Alloy Drum Brake, are priced at Rs 49,261 and Rs 55,546, respectively (all prices, ex-exposure, Delhi).

As previously mentioned, a disc brake at the front will be available only on the Platina 100 equipped with an electric start and is the only change the bike receives. The design, mechanics and features are identical to those of the drum brake equipped model.

The Platina 100 is a BS6-compliant 102 cc single-cylinder engine with maximum power figures of 7.9 hp and 8.34 Nm. This engine is coupled to a 4-speed gearbox.

The Platina 100 is now one of the only 100cc riders to have a disc brake, though the extra money it demands puts it in the same price range as some 110cc riders like the TVS Radeon, whose prices start at Rs 59,742 .
