IT major Infosys on Thursday announced a ‘Summer of Ideas’ initiative for university students around the world.
A global eight-week ideology, powered by Infosys’ digital learning platform Wingspan, will help the global student and academic community overcome the lack of learning opportunities, a statement said.
This initiative will allow students to access the mentorship of Infosys and specially curated learning materials.
The program will involve around 2,000 participants, divided into five teams who will shape their ideas based on 10 topics related to emerging technologies.
In addition to mentoring and refining their ideas by Infosys mentors, renowned professors and technology thought leaders, students will have the opportunity to showcase these ideas to industry experts.
The statement said the platform would also allow students to network with each other, collaborate with teams across geographies, and share ideas with using various digital devices.
Infosys operating officer Praveen Rao said that according to UNESCO estimates, COVID-19 has affected around 1.2 billion students and youth globally. Infosys Summer of Ideas will provide a purposeful summer learning opportunity for students affected by this epidemic.
