The Jammu and Kashmir police has organised a one-month lengthy self-defence training programme known as Mission Shakti for woman college students in Udhampur district.

The intention of the initiative is to empower girls in order that they’ll defend themselves in any opposed scenario.

“This training is being organised under Mission Shakti programme. Girls are being trained here. Their parents, their safety can never be with them all the time. That’s why we are providing them with self-defence training, so they can handle any problem if it arises,” mentioned the Physical Education instructor from the Girls Higher Secondary School, Udhampur.

Currently, 45 college students from totally different colleges and faculties are attending the training. The occasion can be witnessing the participation of girls who come from distant or far-flung areas of district Udhampur.

“The girls who come here from villages have no awareness about the tactics of self-defence. Now that police have organised this camp they are being made aware of the issues,” mentioned Sneha Pathak, a scholar current in the training.

The college students current on the training are completely happy about the truth that any longer they may be capable of defend themselves if any drawback arises.

“After this training whenever we’ll face any problem, we will be able to defend ourselves,” mentioned Priyanka Devi, a scholar.
