After her escape, the accused was booked under Section 224 of the Indian Penal Code for resisting a person for her legitimate apprehension.
A 32-year-old man arrested under the Prohibition Act, who managed to give a slip to the police from Amraiwadi police station in Ahmedabad, was arrested again on Thursday evening, 36 hours later.
According to the police, Kishore alias Karan Chauhan, a resident of Amraiwadi was found intoxicated at around 9.15 am on Tuesday and was arrested under the Prohibition Act. As per the Gujarat High Court guidelines, the accused was detained at Amraiwadi police station on Tuesday night. He along with the police team was sent to the Kovid-19 test at the Civil Hospital at around 4.30 am on Wednesday.
The FIR against the accused read, “After the trial, the accused was brought to Amraiwadi police station around 6 am and managed to escape from the police station by 6.30 am.”
According to the police, the CCTV footage showed the accused walking carelessly at the station of the police station officer (PSO) at the station, even the personnel present failed to notice him. After her escape, the accused was booked under Section 224 of the Indian Penal Code for resisting a person for her legitimate apprehension.
“The accused was arrested again and brought back till Thursday evening. We are investigating how he managed to escape from the police station, ”said a senior officer of Amraiwadi police station.
