Put me back in jail if I don’t marry her in two months: Pocso accused tells court

The girl’s father lodged an FIR at the Rajadia Taluka police station, luring Maria away from his legitimate custody.

A special Poxo court in Rajkot refused Maradia’s bail in May. He approached the HC and his counsel submitted that the girl was a minor at the time of allopment, but now attained adulthood. The girl also filed an affidavit that did not support the prosecution’s story.

She expressed her desire to marry Mardia.

HC further stated in its order that Maradia was ready and willing to marry the victim and her family members were ready to accept the girl.

“It is further submitted that he and his family members will perform the marriage as soon as the applicant is released on bail. If the marriage is not performed within two months of the applicant’s release, he will be ready and back to jail. Will be ready to go, ”the court recorded.

After hearing the case, HC granted conditional bail to Mardia for furnishing a bail bond of Rs 10,000. The HC also said that when a trial takes place in this case, the trial court should not be influenced by the comments in this HC order.
