Karnataka: Hospital worker dies after receiving Covid-19 vaccine, health dept denies link

Two days after he was administered the primary dose of Covid-19 vaccine, a 43-year-old group D worker at a authorities hospital in Ballari district in north Karnataka died of a coronary heart assault on Monday night.

Deputy Commissioner Pavan Kumar Malapati mentioned, “Further details about the death will be shared with the state health department.”

Speaking to, Medical officer of Sundur Government Hospital, Dr Ramashetty mentioned, “We have sent the body to postmortem in the Vijayanagara Institute of Medical Science in Ballari and after the autopsy report only we can confirm the exact reason for his death.”

“Nagraj had come to duty on Monday as usual but he complained of chest pain and was admitted to the hospital but died and didn’t respond to the treatment,” Ramashetty mentioned.

Karnataka Health Minister Okay Sudhakar additionally mentioned the dying of the Nagraj was not because of the Covishield vaccine. “He had hypertension and diabetes. His postmortem report is awaited. He had no side effects post taking the vaccine. Doctors tried to give emergency health care but he did not respond to treatment and died,” Sudhakar added.

Meanwhile, on Monday night, the Union Health Ministry mentioned that two individuals died after taking Covid-19 vaccine in Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka.” Death of the Uttar Pradesh resident isn’t associated to vaccination; submit mortem is deliberate right this moment for the second individual,” Union Health Ministry mentioned in a press release.
