In Capital, restaurants & malls to open, not hotels

The capital plan includes installation of malls car sanitizing kiosks, liquid with mats, thermal scanners, and hand sanitizers.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that malls, restaurants and places of worship in Delhi will be allowed to open from Monday. However, the hotel and banquet hall will remain closed, as they may have to be converted into Covid’s care facilities in the future.

The CM said on Sunday that Delhi was following the guidelines set by the Center. Following orders from the central government, the Delhi government has decided to open restaurants, shopping malls and places of worship from tomorrow. The Central Government has issued specific guidelines regarding the opening of these places, including maintaining social disturbances, wearing masks and others. All these guidelines prepared by the Central Government experts in Delhi will be followed.

“However, the government will consider opening the banquet hall later, as the number of Covid cases is increasing, and may need to handle hotels and banquets to convert them into Covid care facilities,” he said. .

Restaurants will only be allowed up to 50% of their seating capacity. The city’s restaurants have so far only been allowed to operate their kitchens for takeaway and delivery services.
