MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan mentioned any tweet or submit on social media can create unrest within the state and the federal government has to make sure there isn’t a pointless controversy.

Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday mentioned that whereas everybody has the best to freedom of expression, they can’t hurt the emotions of others. He mentioned this whereas talking on the newest controversy over performances of stand-up comedians, together with Vir Das and Munawar Faruqui, at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit.

In dialog with Sunetra Choudhury, the nationwide political editor of Hindustan Times, Chouhan mentioned any tweet or submit on social media can create unrest within the state.

When requested about Faruqui being jailed in MP or comedians not being allowed to carry out as lately conveyed by a minister in his authorities, the chief minister mentioned, “We are not scared, but social media posts and tweets can create unrest. Our effort is to ensure there is no unnecessary controversy.” 

“While everybody has the right to express themselves, that freedom of expression must not hurt others’ sentiments. In such situations, the government has to ensure that law and order prevails. But anybody can come and express themselves in Madhya Pradesh.”

He additional mentioned whereas he had the freedom to maneuver round his palms in any which manner, but would wish to make sure that it doesn’t hurt somebody bodily.
