IT Ministry to ban more application with Chinese links

The report said that after banning 59 Chinese applications in India, the IT ministry is now ready to ban more applications with links in China.

Officials said Halo Lite, Sharelight Lite, Big Light and VFY Lite have been removed from the Google playstore and Apple App Store.

Last month, the government banned 59 applications, including the famous social networking app TikTok. The decision was taken against the backdrop of Indo-China face-to-face in the Galvan valley in which 20 Indian soldiers were martyred.

Banning the apps, the government had said that they were ‘precursors to the sovereignty, integrity and security of the country’.

An ME ME official said, “The app was found to be operating through these versions despite the restriction.” “They have been taken down from application stores.”
