Jamia Millia Islamia’s Residential Training Academy (RCA) is conducting simulated virtual interviews for registered students whose UPSC interview has been rescheduled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. A total of 60 RCA students rated the 2019 UPSC Mains exams and 48 of them already appeared in a personality test / interview conducted by the commission. The remaining 12 candidates were unable to appear for the interview as it was rescheduled due to COVID-19 and their interview will now take place between July 20-29, 2020.
For the mock interview, RCA has cornered some prominent public officials and academics as panel members to question students on various national and international issues. The panel also provides valuable advice to participants for the actual interview.
Officials of various services such as Mr. Indraveer Yadav IAS, Mr. Mahesh Misra IPS, Mr. S.S. Khan IRS, Mr. Javeed Ahmad IPS, Mr. Khursheed Ganai IAS, Mr. Vivek Katju IFS and Professor U.M. Ameen acted as panel members during the interview.
Professor Najma Akhtar, Vice Chancellor of JMI, personally supervises the mock interviews. She addressed the panel members and briefed them on the successful efforts of RCA, JMI. She thanked the panel members for taking the time and giving valuable advice to the students. She also praised the efforts of Mr. Tanvir Zafar Ali, Hony. Director and Mohd. Tarique, Deputy Director of RCA, JMI.
24 RCA, JMI students have also qualified for the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) and their interview is scheduled to start from July 15, 2020. RCA is organizing a virtual simulated interview for them also with the same panel. Meanwhile, 14 RCA, JMI students were recently selected on the Jammu and Kashmir PSC exam.
RCA was established in 2010 by UGC under the auspices of the Career Planning and Training Center (CC&CP), JMI to provide free training and residential services to SC, ST, Women and Minority students for civil services and other competitive exams. From 2010-11 to 2018, about 240 students have successfully joined Indian Civil Services. Furthermore, more than 250 students have also been selected in various other central and state services, that is, CAPF, IB, RBI (Grade B), APF, Bank PO and PCS, etc.
