The Punjab Department of Medical Education and Research said on Sunday that tests will be conducted to recruit more than 4,000 health personnel, including doctors and nurses. Exams for their various courses will be held for the current session, said an official spokesman in Chandigarh.
The Punjab government has sanctioned more than 4,000 positions for doctors and paramedical personnel, including technicians, nurses, pharmacists, ophthalmic officers, medical / psychiatric social workers, operating room assistants, etc.
“Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the responsibility for recruiting medical and paramedical personnel has been vested in the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. The university will conduct the recruitment exams for these positions, ”said the official.
He said the university had already notified the exam schedule for several courses related to health sciences.
“The vice chancellor of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences was asked to perform these tests as soon as possible,” the spokesperson said.
The state department of higher education has already clarified in its letter that instructions not to take tests due to Covid do not apply to the department of medical education.
