Washington DC. [USA], 14 December (ANI): English director Jonathan Antvisal is set to direct a reboot of the Power Rangers under the banner of Paramount Pictures.
Filmmaker Entwistle, well-known for his Netflix series – The End of the F *** ing World, is in early talks to direct a new feature project that will reboot the title, ‘The Hollywood Reporter.’
Initially ‘The Mighty Morphine Power Rangers’, ‘The Power Rangers’ was a 90s TV series. It was a global marketing franchise using footage from a Japanese children’s show.
The franchise consisted of a group of children, who wore a coordinated costume and matching helmets and became superheroes. A very well-known show in the 2000s, it first aired on Fox Kids and later on Disney-owned channels. A film was also released in 1995.
Entertainment company Lionsgate rebooted the title feature two years ago, but the film grossed only US $ 142 million on a budget of around US $ 100 million, and plans for a series of films were scrapped.
It is now said to incorporate a time-travel element into the reboot’s story, which brings children to the 1990s, where they must find a way to return to their present.
Patrick Burleigh, who wrote the upcoming ‘Peter Rabbit 2: The Runway’, is penning the screenplay. Hasbro is producing the feature through his film arm, Allspark Pictures. (ANI)
