PUNE A senior citizen was killed by a person at a de-addiction centre situated in Narhe in the early hours of Thursday over use of abusive language.
The deceased has been recognized as Arun Mohan Rathi, 65, a resident of Anubandhan society in Sinhagad street space whereas the accused was recognized as Sanket Sunil Alhat, 24, a resident of Swaminarayan temple space in Narhe.
A grievance in the matter was lodged by the proprietor of the centre who claimed that the 2 lived in the identical flat run by the centre.
The aged man allegedly abused the youthful one often which enraged him. He (the accused) used a damaged mirror glass to slash Rathi’s throat after which tried to tug it aside together with his palms, in response to the grievance.
“He was there for nine months and the older man was there for 11 months. On Wednesday night, Rathi said something to him over dinner that had made him angry. So, he woke up around 3am and committed the crime,” stated Assistant police inspector Prashant Kanse of Sinhagad street police station who’s investigating the case.
A case underneath Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code was registered at Sinhagad street police station.
