How to Play Powerball: To participate, visit your local convenience store, gas station, or grocery store to purchase a $2 Powerball ticket. In select states, tickets may also be available online.

Players select six numbers:

  • Five numbers from 1 to 69 (white balls)
  • One number from 1 to 26 (red Powerball)

Increase Your Odds: For an additional $1, opt for a “Power Play” which multiplies non-jackpot prizes by factors of 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X, or 10X.

Alternatively, request a “Quick Pick” where the computer generates random numbers for your Powerball ticket.

Drawings occur on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday evenings. If no one claims the jackpot, the prize money rolls over, resulting in even larger potential winnings.

Where to Buy Tickets: Tickets are available at gas stations, convenience stores, grocery stores, and in some airport terminals.
