Apple announces new iPhone SE 2020, to come with minimum 64GB storage

Good news, iPhone users – a new iPhone is here. However, this is not the iPhone 12, if you are wondering. It is the same name as the earlier device, but comes with some new features in a new packaging. Read to know how much it costs.

Apple has officially announced the new iPhone SE, a relatively low-cost device with 64 GB of storage. It looks similar to the iPhone 8, as it has a 4.7-inch screen, large bezels on the top and bottom, and a home button with Touch ID. The design remains the same since the iPhone 6, and essentially, the iPhone SE is the fifth generation of the same look.

It wouldn’t be wrong to call it the iPhone 8 with a better camera and processor, certainly a lower price tag.

The iPhone SE features a 4.7-inch Retina HD display and design, similar to the iPhone 8. However, the body is now metal, unlike glass. The display supports Dolby Vision and HDR10 playback. It uses Haptic Touch for quick actions – such as animating live photos, previewing messages, rearranging apps, and more.

As per tradition, Apple has not revealed the RAM size but has confirmed that the phone will be made available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage models.

For the camera, Apple has used a single-camera system with a 12-megapixel f / 1.8 aperture wide-angle lens on the iPhone SE. The company says the use of phone portrait mode, all six portrait lighting effects and depth control.5 to unlock even more benefits of computational photography including machine learning and monocular depth assessment. A13 Bionic’s image signal processor and neural engine uses it.

The rear camera supports 4K video up to 60fps and the dynamic range is extended to highlight details up to 30fps. In terms of connectivity, the new Apple iPhone SE will support dual-SIM. It will follow the same eSIM and a physical SIM technology. Additionally, there will be support for Wi-Fi 6 and Gigabit LTE.

Now let’s come to pricing. Apple has said that the most affordable version of this phone will be priced at $ 399 for a 64 GB storage unit. This roughly translates into less than Rs 31,000. There will also be a 128 GB model on offer. It will be available for $ 449 or about Rs 34,500. The high-storage top-end model will pack 256GB of internal storage for $ 549 or Rs 42,000. Please note that these are approximate prices and will be slightly higher when the phone becomes available in India.
