The world’s most popular messaging application WhatsApp is planning to introduce a new feature that will allow WhatsApp accounts to be linked to multiple devices. Until now, Messenger can be used on one device at a time.
Facebook-owned applications have been periodically bringing new features to improve the experience for its users. Recently, it made some major changes in WhatsApp status and video call feature.
The company has now talked about working on a feature called Multiple Device Support. Although it is currently undergoing testing, reports say that it could be started soon. A WhatsApp account can be linked to multiple devices through this feature.
Testing of this feature was going on for some time. However, users are likely to experience this soon.
According to a report by WABetainfo, this feature has been seen in the beta version of WhatsApp. It is designated as linked devices rather than multi device support. The website has also shared its screenshot. The feature has been seen in beta version 2.20.143 for the Android platform.
WABetainfo has said that the messaging app can now be used on other devices as well. Until now, you could only use it on one device at a time, but the feature would allow it to be used on multiple devices simultaneously.
The report further states that on Android Beta 2.20.143 version, it asks the user to connect to WiFi on the registration screen. While the reason behind this is unclear, the same screen says that logging can be slow without WiFi and using a large amount of data plans.
Nevertheless, the facility is still in testing condition and no one knows when it will be available in a stable release.
